چکیده

MMC based on aluminium (Al) were produced for light-weight applications especially in aviation and automobile areas. Present paper deals with the fabrication mechanical performance of AA6061 matrix composites fortified Al2O3 (alumina) graphene particulates. Fluid metallurgy method namely stir casting route was employed fabricating hybrid composites. Al2O3p powder are mixed different weight fractions which (1 wt. %) particle reinforcement is held consistent differed freely 5, 10 15 %. Using optical analyser SEM equipment, microstructural examination carried out result reveals that particles prevalently homogeneously appropriated grain limits Al disseminated between as-cast MMC’s. Detailed analysis investigation microstructure aspects Al6061-graphene-Al2O3p presented by following ASTM guidelines; results uncovered increment particles, there an enhancement hardness, ultimate strength, yield strength a decline elongation values however noticed when contrasted Al6061 alloy. Fractography revealed dimples unreinforced alloy composite.

Tribological performance of Graphene/Carbon nanotube hybrid reinforced Al2O3 composites

Tribological performance of the hot-pressed pure Al2O3 and its composites containing various hybrid contents of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were investigated under different loading conditions using the ball-on-disc method. Benchmarked against the pure Al2O3, the composite reinforced with a 0.5 wt% GNP exhibited a 23% reduction in the friction coefficient along wit...

Interfaces in AlCu-Al2O3 Metal Matrix Composites Studied by Mechanical Spectroscopy

Mechanical spectroscopy has been used for studying the relaxation of the mechanical and thermal stresses, which are built at the fibre-matrix interfaces in AICu-A1203 Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs). The interface strength has been evaluated by the stress dependent damping which exhibits a peak of solid friction. This peak is interpreted as due to interface microcracking. Relaxation of thermal s...
